How to set up automatic backups

Who can configure this

Project ADMIN or OWNER. Developers can still run manual backups.

Steps

1. Open the project → Settings.
2. (Optional) Add an external destination under Backup destinations and Connect OAuth clouds if needed. You can also keep Native (on the project server).
3. Open Auto backup.
4. Enable automatic backups.
5. Choose frequency:
   • Hourly
   • Every 6 hours
   • Daily (default)
   • Weekly
6. Choose destination: Native or a configured external destination.
7. Set keep last N backups (1–50, default 7).
8. Save auto backup.

What gets backed up

Scheduled jobs run against production. Ensure the worker/Redis services are running on the WayHost platform, or schedules will not fire.

Checklist

• Destination Connected (for Drive/OneDrive).
• Retention high enough for your recovery needs.
• Test a manual backup once before relying on the schedule.
